In October 2006 Mekmere, a wholly owned subsidiary of Ariadne Australia, purchased the Port Macquarie Marina under a 20 year lease with a view to redevelop the facility.

In late January 2008 after an open tender process, the Minister of the NSW Department of Lands announced that Ariadne Australia was the preferred proponent to develop a parcel of foreshore land adjacent to the marina site.

Ariadne plans to redevelop the area into a marina and public recreation precinct and is committed to working with the Port Macquarie community to realise these plans.

Ariadne is currently preparing a project application to redevelop the area. The project application will be submitted to the NSW Department of Planning for assessment under Part 3A of the Environmental Planning and Assessment Act 1979 as a Major Project.

This website provides an overview of the proposed redevelopment and links to all relevant documents supporting the project application. Once detailed environmental assessment has been completed this website will support the formal public exhibition that will be coordinated by the NSW Department of Planning.
